Winter Warmer is a compilation made by Rebbeca Doerfer (Brown Bread), you may remember her from her breathtaking vocals in our "One Year Later Compilation". The first Winter Warmer compilation was done last year featuring young DIY artists from New York. This year the party has stayed the same with some new appearences, like our own RAW SILVER. The genres vary between electronic, ambient, dreampop, folk, indie, lo-fi, punk and rock.

Andre is the man behind Radio Rietveld, he's the one who made it happen again, without him we probably wouldn't even know about it. I've been receiving emails from him about the radio since last year but this time around there was something different! He had paired up with So Obsolete ! label and recorded a long player in three days.
"Makeshift Makebelieve is threading new ground with this priceless FREE internet-album. This worthy-of-note unhinged-prog-lo-fi three day session at amstelstraat 34 has now been condensed down to seventyfive minutes of sad entertainment. My classmate Efrem never stops making music and never forgets to hit the record button, he must have housands of recordings, and their distortion and soul is endless. I've aksed him to showcase some of his newest and most proud work, his description was;
"it's lo-fi music made in my bedroom and at live recordings, all diy.
What i liked about punk bands growing up were the lesser known bands who couldn't afford good material, but the songs were good anyway and the recordings were even nicer because of their lesser quality
though i don't mind overproduced music either
but dismanteling the piece is leche con carne, two waves is the sasters, both are bands and gypsy lemm is me usually by myself and sometimes with friends"
Alright Lover is a guy we've mentioned before, Craig Pollard from UK. We became friends through a mutual blog fascination, made a song together that we still haven't released and gave promise for future collaboration. I've dedicated his songs to many lo-fi lovers. He's been rather busy lately creating a new lovely EP and a 15 minute sampler.
The album finds him in a more acoustic mood, as blurry as ever but in a more rythmic way. He's keeping things simpler but more focused. Track "Lonely" has shaped my Sundays lately.
MJMJ is the D.I.Y. record label by our very own Andy, Vacation Dad in Minneapolis.
Besides the rumours for a "Back in Bizznis Vol.2" compilation, there's something else truly magnificent going on in the label;
Dakota Bones
"After a year of waiting MJ is finally getting our hands on Dakota Bones' incredible debut EP. This record has been on blast at the MJ MJ office for a year and now ya'll got a chance to hear this glorious piece of work. Constantly evolving and shifting, this record will surprise and delight at every turn."

Kiriakos Spirou is a young Cypriot pianist living and working in The Netherlands. Truly touching sound maker and very humble, he contacted us willing to collaborate. He now is working on a music for a play and a track for RAW SILVER debut album.

Angelos Kyriou was an artist i randomly came across in a vinyl shop at Thessaloniki. His archieve of music in his blog was pressed as a vinyl by Organised Music From Thessaloniki. I had to wait to go back in Cyprus this summer to listen what i've bought cause i had no idea. Helen was really jealous of this purchase. Some months passed by, i got my own pick-up in Amsteram and i once again i came across this vinyl. It's very rare, fascinating and refreshing to hear such an uncompromised sound. I really can't say we're friends, we've only smiled at each other at Facebook, but it's too much of an influence to hide.
Cyprus Dossier is now available online. That means in page 46 you'll be able to read for the first time an analytical text about XORKO.

Με βάση το παγκοσμίως γνωστό και βραβευμένο θεατρικό έργο της Ηβ Ένσλερ «Αιδοίων Μονόλογοι», οι οκτώ αυτές καλλιτέχνιδες θα αποδώσουν η κάθε μια από ένα μονόλογο μέσω της δικής τους τέχνης.
Μια διαφορετική προσέγγιση των μονολόγων που ξεφεύγει από την συμβατική θεατρική τους απόδοση. Ομονόλογοι ως μέσον έκφρασης των καλλιτέχνιδων μετατρέπονται σε εκθέματα.
Η θεματική του «Αιδοίων Μονόλογοι» εστιάζει στη σχέση της γυναίκας με την κολπική της κοιλότητα μέσω μιας σειράς θεμάτων όπως ο ερωτισμός, η σεξουαλική εκμετάλλευση, ο βιασμός, η εμμηνόπαυση, ο ακρωτηριασμός γεννητικών οργάνων, και άλλων.
Την επιμέλεια της έκθεσης-παράστασης έχει η σκηνοθέτιδα και θεατρολόγος Μαρία Βαρνακκίδου.
Τα εγκαίνια θα πραγματοποιηθούν την Πέμπτη 7 Φεβρουαρίου 2013 στις 19:00 - 22:00 (δεκαπεντάλεπτη θεατρική παράσταση στις 20:00).
Ώρες λειτουργίας 8,9 και 10 Φεβρουαρίου: 11:00-13:00 και 16:00-19:00 (δεκαπεντάλεπτη θεατρική παράσταση στις 18:00 )

This is how the RSS team chooses to begin their journey in the record companies field. Opening the description to their newly debuted website and label launch. Our buddy Julien Mynude is one of the Producers, in charge of the Artworks, the Branding and one of the Co-founders along with his other half Christos MYNUDE and Alexandro Sissi (ALHEK), DUBIT and UDEN.
The label is making big steps, very carefuly, one at a time. As they've mentioned on their Facebook Page recently, "As 2012 come to a close, we are more than happy to announce the launch of Several Reasons. Exclusively vinyl releases and future-packed innovative live performances. For now, here is the website and stayed tuned for news regarding the first release with a remix from a very exciting duo which is climbing the charts very fast. We are very proud to have reached this point after a long and eventful journey."

Inside Plan Cassettes is a collection of four mixtapes created by our djs in XORKO team. All four mixtapes are themed for inside purposes.
The opening mixtape by SHLM is served as a first in a four dish meal. Intense in flavor, bass focused, with a twist of bleeping strawberries towards the end. SHLM as focused as ever leads the way in an emotional electronic path. Janis Plasmatik is in charge for the second part, very well known for his charming abilities, sex like loops and groovy atmosphere, he has created a 55 minute long delicatessen for your ears. RAW SILVER takes over into a heavier armory, thicker layers of bass and a maximal techno feelings are taking over. This eclectic soundscape is slowly sculptured into a club cave leading towards the fourth and last part. Created by Monkeyy Egg our English friend, in the whole Amsterdam i couldn't find anyone better to finish this collection. Trapping bass, unexpected digital breaks, lights and all the amusing variety of characteristic sounds, chopped, screwed and served for a good night wish.

The second Loop Festival is here. Rethought, recomposed and ready to loop our asses off with great bands and solo artists like Mo Kolours, Sancho 003 and M.Edo. It's all started this year with a design competition won by a very promising Cypriot graphic designer Despina Kannaourou, then they unleashed their playlist, created a beautiful calendar for sale and the festival is almost ready for a second even more ecxiting round.
Great job guys, all around. We wish you the best.
